My name is Quang The Nguyen. I was born in Vietnam in 1958. I escaped Communist Vietnam and came to Pulau Bidong Refugee Camp in Malaysia in April 1988. I was accepted to resettle in the United States of America as a political refugee. I came to America on September 1st, 1989. I worked as a shipping and receiving clerk in a toy warehouse in Jersey City, New Jersey for two months. Then, I moved to San Jose and worked as waiter/dishwasher for four months before getting a stable job as a high school paraprofessional. I worked as a classroom bilingual paraprofessional for 7 years. In these seven years I went to school during nighttime. I got my B.A. Degree in Social Sciences and the Single Subject Teaching Credential in Social Sciences from San Jose State University, California. I have been teaching at Silver Creek High School, East Side Union High School District since Fall 1997. I created the Dân Chủ Việt Movement on June 3, 2013, the Dân Chủ Việt Party on December 28, 2014, and the Republic of Vietnam Government in Exile on January 28, 2016. Declaration of January 17, 2019, RE: Sovereignty of the Republic of Vietnam over Vietnam

Ladies and Gentlemen,

On behalf of the Republic of Vietnam Government in Exile, I would solemnly deny the legitimacy of the Communist authorities and declare the sovereignty of the Republic of Vietnam over the whole territory of Vietnam.

The Republic of Vietnam Government in Exile calls on the United States of America and all other nations of the Free World to recognize the sovereignty of the Republic of Vietnam over the whole territory of Vietnam from Ai Nam Quan to Mui Ca Mau, with the Paracel and Spratly Islands included.

My country fellows,

Red China and Vietcong might announce the annexation of Vietnam to China in the coming days or months.

We should declare the restoration of the Republic of Vietnam to nullify the treaty of selling the country of Vietnam to China and other adverse treaties signed by Vietcong and Red China.

The Republic of Vietnam is not responsible for the debts and the loans initiated by the illegal Communist authorities.

The people of Vietnam have never voted for the Communists in a free election.

The Communists belong to an international gang force occupying Vietnam.

The Communist authorities are the evil authorities, which are robbing and killing their own people and are attempting to sell the country of Vietnam to China.

My fellow Vietnamese,

It is time for us inland and abroad to get out of fear and courageously stand up in unison for our right of self-determination to overthrow the corrupt Communist regime, which is hurting the people and selling the country.

Let us be united in the central and local Republic governments suggested by the Republic of Vietnam Government in Exile to restore the free democratic regime of the Republic of Vietnam to save Our Fatherland.
