Who is Quang The Nguyen?

My name is Quang The Nguyen.

I am a Vietnamese American.

I am a high school teacher. I teach Vietnamese.

I am a political refugee who wants to restore the Republic of Vietnam to free Vietnamese people from the autocratic regime set up by the Chinese Communist Party and its puppet Vietnamese Communist Party.

I created Vietnamese Democratic Movement (Phong Trào Dân Chủ Việt) on June 3, 2013, and Vietnamese Democratic Party (Đảng Dân Chủ Việt) on December 28, 2014.

I created Republic of Vietnam Government in Exile on January 28, 2016, and have been leading the Organization ever since.

I believe all Communist regimes will be completely defeated by the Free World.

I hope the Republic of Vietnam Government in Exile will eventually succeed in restoring the Republic of Vietnam and thus free Vietnam from the domination of the Chinese Communist Party and its puppet Vietnamese Communist Party.

I was born in Vietnam in 1958.

I escaped Communist Vietnam and came to Pulau Bidong Refugee Camp in Malaysia in April 1988.

I was accepted to resettle in the United States of America as a political refugee.

I came to America on September 1^st, 1989.

I worked as a shipping and receiving clerk in a toy warehouse in Jersey City, New Jersey for two months. Then, I moved to San Jose and worked as a waiter/dishwasher for four months before getting a stable job as a high school paraprofessional.

I worked as a classroom bilingual paraprofessional for 7 years.

In these seven years I went to school during nighttime.

I got my B.A. Degree in Social Sciences and the Single Subject Teaching Credential in Social Sciences from San Jose State University, California.

I have been teaching at Silver Creek High School, East Side Union High School District since Fall 1997.

My Brief Autobiography

My parents are from the North of Vietnam. They moved to the South in 1954 to avoid Communism.

I was born and raised in a Catholic family.

My family moved back and forth to Da Nang, Phu Bai, Quang Tri, Dong Ha of Central Vietnam, following the ARVN troops to do business. My parents are retailers of household items and used to sell items to several soldiers on credit. Many of them paid what they owed on the first day of the month when they got paid. That’s why our family moved along with the soldiers for several years.

After I had finished 5th grade, my parents sent me to Missionary Junior Seminary of Kontum for training, expecting me to be a priest. But I was in this religious boarding school for only 3 years, because my parents could not provide the cost of my education there. My parents had moved to Saigon for my older brothers to attend college.

I was in high school in Saigon when the South fell to Communism. My family had planned to flee like anybody else in 1975 but failed. Because we are poor, I am the only one in the family that could finally escape from Communism on April 11, 1988, by boat to Pulau Bidong, Malaysia.

I felt I got a new life breathing freedom in the refugee camps in Pulau Bidong, Sungai Besi in Malaysia and in Bataan in the Philippines. After one year and a half in the refugee camps, I came to the United States of America as a refugee, sponsored by the institution named, unless I am wrong, “International Institute of New Jersey”.

My first day in America is September 1st, 1989. My new real life of freedom began in Jersey City, New Jersey with the Labor Day weekend. I started working in a warehouse of a toy company a few days after my arrival and one day after I did the Social Security card paperwork.

I started learning English, in addition to French, Latin, and Vietnamese when I was in the seminary. I like to learn languages and had a chance to make a living tutoring English for several years before fleeing. In some way, I was somewhat ready for my new life in America in terms of English. Therefore, I could enjoy the society of freedom and democracy almost from the very beginning of my new life in America. I worked as a shipping and receiving clerk during the day and studied during the night at an Adult Learning Center in Jersey City. It was too cold for me to walk in the rain in the late evening from school back home. I decided to move to San Jose, California after 2 months living in Jersey City. I moved to San Jose on November 1st, 1989. I worked as a dishwasher, busboy, and waiter in several restaurants for a few months before I got a job as a Teacher Aide or Para-educator at Silver Creek High School on March 6, 1990, partly thanks to my GED (General Education Development) diploma that I got on December 22nd, 1989, from Santa Clara County Office of Education and mainly thanks to God’s love for me. After seven years working as a teacher assistant and going to school during the night and weekend, I got an Electronics Certificate, Computer Certificate, AA degree in General Education, BA degree in Social Science with emphasis on high school teaching, and Single Subject Teaching Credential in Social Science. I also passed the CBEST (California Basic Educational Standardized Tests) and the SSAT (Standardized Scholarly Aptitude Test). I have been teaching as a teacher since June 1997 at Silver Creek High School and hopefully, I will be at Silver Creek until I retire.

I just got involved in the politics of Vietnam recently when I felt China was going to swallow the South China Sea and annex Vietnam. China‘s ambition and greed is threatening the world order and security and should be stopped. The United States of America should help the anti-Communist Vietnamese set up the Republic of Vietnam Government in Exile and support it financially. And the US should make it clear to the world that America supports the Republic of Vietnam Government in Exile, so that the Vietnamese people will have trust in it. Otherwise, they will think it’s a trap of the Red Chinese/Vietcong secret agents. The United States and Vietnam have a lot in common: security, interests, ideology, freedom of religion, human rights, democracy, etc.

Tôi tên Nguyễn Thế Quang, sinh năm 1958.

Tôi đã liên tục làm việc tại trường Silver Creek High School, 3434 Silver Creek Rd San Jose CA 95121 USA từ ngày 6 tháng 3, năm 1990 cho tới hiện nay, và hy vọng sẽ còn làm việc ở đây nhiều năm nữa cho đến khi về hưu.

Tôi cư trú tại thành phố San Jose, tiểu bang California, USA với vợ và 3 người con.

Tôi thành lập Phong Trào Dân Chủ Việt ngày 3/6/2013 và Đảng Dân Chủ Việt ngày 28/12/2014.

Tôi muốn tham gia vào đảng Dân Chủ Việt (DCV) để cùng với các thành viên khác góp phần xây dựng và củng cố chế độ dân chủ tự do tại Việt Nam.

Tôi nói tiếng Việt và tiếng Anh.

Tôi là giáo viên ở San Jose, USA. Chuyên môn của tôi là tiếng Việt và Khoa Học Xã Hội.

Tôi có lòng với dân nước Việt và muốn chung tay tranh đấu cho một nước Việt Nam độc lập theo thể chế dân chủ tự do.

Bố mẹ tôi là Bắc Kỳ Công Giáo di cư năm 1954, trốn chạy Cộng Sản. Tôi sinh ra, lớn lên và học tiểu học ở Miền Trung. Bố mẹ tôi di chuyển theo quân đội để buôn bán, nên đã đưa chúng tôi đi đến nhiều nơi khác nhau ở Quảng Trị, Đông Hà, Huế, Đà Nẵng. Tôi đã học những năm tiểu học ở Quảng Trị và Đà Nẵng. Hết bậc tiểu học, tôi được bố mẹ gửi đi tu học nội trú ở Tiểu Chủng Viện Kontum. Tôi đã ở đó 3 năm. Gia đình tôi đổi vào Sài Gòn, nên tôi học lớp 9-12 ở Sài Gòn. Đang học lớp 12 thì Sài Gòn rơi vào tay Cộng Sản. Sau đó, tôi học ở trường cao đẳng Nông Lâm Súc Bảo Lộc gần 1 năm. Vì lý do tôn giáo, tôi bỏ học về quê ở Phương Lâm, Định Quán làm thuê và làm rẫy giúp gia đình. Năm 1979, tôi làm thư ký tiết kiệm ở ngân hàng Tân Phú, Định Quán và được cho đi học kế toán sơ cấp 3 tháng. Năm 1980, tôi xin thôi vì bố mẹ tôi đã dọn trở về lại Sài Gòn. Tôi đã làm nghề dạy kèm tư gia, bán sách cũ cho đến khi vượt biên năm 1988. Sau hơn một năm ở các trại tị nạn Pulau Bidong, Sungai Besi, Malaysia và Bataan, Philippines, tôi đã đến Mỹ ngày 1 tháng 9 năm 1989; và bắt đầu cuộc đời mới. Tôi may mắn kiếm được việc làm thông ngôn thông dịch trong trường học sau vài tháng bốc vác trong warehouse và rửa bát bồi bàn ở các nhà hàng. Tôi đã đi học đại học buổi tối và cuối tuần trong 7 năm để trở thành giáo viên high school. Tôi có bằng BA in Social Science, Single Subject Teaching Credential in Social Sciences, và SSAT in Vietnamese. Tôi đã dạy học ở trường Silver Creek High School từ năm 1997, nếu kể cả 7 năm làm phụ giáo nữa, là 25 năm. Tôi có vợ và 3 con còn đi học. Tôi phản đối việc Tàu mưu toan cướp nước Việt Nam và độc chiếm Biển Đông.
